January 13, 2004, revised December 3, 2005. We've got a new web site, but since you're reading this, you already know that! During the 2004 Annual Meeting, the OVHC membership made it very clear that not only did they want to have a presence on the internet, but they wanted the site to promote the club and to promote the Hereford breed as well. The existing site at that time was a small photo gallery on the Geocities system. In response to the wishes of the membership, the webmaster applied for a domain registration on January 10, 2005, and the application was approved within six hours of applying. A minor technical glitch was resolved, and at 10:45 AM on Tuesday, January 11, 2005, ottawaherefords.com was born - a sister site to metcalfefair.com and ottawafarmshow.com. Ottawaherefords.com is a very powerful Small Business website with lots of bandwidth and room to grow, so it should meet the needs of the Ottawa Valley Hereford Club for many years to come. The webmaster is open to your comments and suggestions. With your help and support, this site can meet all of the expectations expressed by the membership at the Annual Meeting. It's your site - enjoy it! By the way: Several visitors have asked about our background pictures. The banner photo of the herd of herefords all lined up and facing the camera was taken at the 2004 Twilight Meeting during the tour of Rolling Acres Farms in Shawville PQ. They belong to Laird and Stephen Hamilton. When I took this photo, the cattle reminded me of a football team lining up, and that's why the photo file name is "Team Hereford".
