The "Pick of the Valley"  is a major sale of top quality Hereford cattle raised in the Ottawa Valley region. It is held at the Carp Fairgrounds the weekend after the Metcalfe Fair, usually the second weekend of October.
We're looking for  quality Herefords to consign to the Pick of the Valley Sale.   Good pedigreed Hereford cows, heifers, calves and bulls.   We seek greater numbers in our sale this year, so we are open to accept dispersals or partial herd dispersals.  Cows with a bit of age are welcome, as long as they're good cows.  Bulls will go through the sale ring and will have a base price.

Photos, pedigree and comments on each sale animal  need to be sent to me by August 13 to be included in the sale catalogue.  Photos aren't mandatory, but a good photo sure gets buyers excited about your animal!

August 13 is the date of the Ottawa Valley Hereford Club picnic at Brent & Jen Palsson's farm, so you can bring your sale cattle information to me there or just email it to me .

The Ottawa Valley Hereford Club plan to keep the consignment cost at 15% or less, dependant on expenses.  A $100 entry fee is requested from the consignor upon entry to help with up front printing and advertising costs.  Consignors are requested to have proof of $1 million liability insurance for sale day.
2011 Pick of the Valley Sale - Carp Fairgrounds, Monday Oct 10, 2011 @ 1 p.m.
This is a great time to sell cattle, when beef prices are higher than they been in years!
